More Than a Quirk: The Realities of OCD

An independent, multimedia educational documentary detailing the complexities of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, produced as a core component of my First-Class university dissertation.

Pre-Production & Research: Independently researched the subject matter and handled the casting process, sourcing and vetting sensitive case studies to find the ideal interviewees for the narrative.

Production: Coordinated all travel logistics to conduct on-location interviews. Operated as a sole creator in the field, independently managing the technical setup, including audio capturing, and visual framing to ensure strong aesthetic consistency.

Technical Execution: Responsible for end-to-end digital design and editing. Utilised DaVinci Resolve for advanced grading/cutting and Adobe After Effects to construct custom informative graphics, ensuring a seamless integration of video assets, text, and audio.

Impact & Recognition: Highly praised for its precision and attention to detail, the piece has been adopted by the interviewees themselves, who have since shared the piece across their own platforms and use it as a trusted educational asset in professional presentations.

9/11: Reflections from the East Midlands

A short-form documentary exploring regional, community-centric perspectives on the events of 9/11, juxtaposed with a local theatre group's performance of the musical Come From Away.

Archive Research & Asset Compliance: Extensively sourced and cataloged historical archive footage. Managed the copyright clearing process, ensuring all broadcast materials and historical assets fully complied with licensing attributions and fair-use guidelines.

Creative Collaboration & Location Production: Partnered closely with a local theatre company, filming deep, emotive interviews. Managed the field production using multi-mic audio setups and directed the framing to ensure all captured footage was optimised for both landscape and portrait (social-first) orientations.

Post-Production & Motion Design: Crafted a bespoke, professional title animation sequence tailored specifically for the project. Created animated transcripts for audio only interviews with Adobe After Effects. Utilised DaVinci Resolve for the primary narrative cut and asset management, creating a poignant, beautifully paced, and cohesive editorial rhythm.

The Takeaway: Demonstrated advanced skills in regional community journalism, complex archival workflow organisation, and balancing sensitive, real-world historical contexts with creative visual direction.
